Charred broccoli and asparagus with ginger, sesame and soy

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 x head broccoli florets

1 x punnet asparagus

1 tsp grated ginger

2 cloves chopped garlic

1 finely sliced red chilli

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp soy/tamari sauce

1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Method

  1. Preheat a pan on the stove to hot, and add the oils
  2. Add the broccoli and asparagus – be careful, because this will spit
  3. Allow the veg to char slightly (about 5 seconds, if your pan is hot enough) and then turn
  4. Add the chilli, garlic and ginger
  5. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes then add the soy sauce
  6. Continue to stir fry for another minute
  7. Serve on a dish, topped with the sesame seeds
  8. This dish is great served hot as part of a bowl, it also makes for a great salad when served cold.
